چکیده

In this paper, we investigate the load balancing problem by jointly considering sectorization and hybrid F/CDMA scheme in the scenario of non-uniform traffic distributions. The problem is formulated as a mathematical optimization model, and is solved by Lagrangean relaxation approach. The model objective is to minimize weighted blocking probability in terms of distribution diversity. To evaluate the model, performance analysis of adaptive load balancing is conducted by proposed bandwidth segmentation scheme; it is denoted adaptive scheme (AS). Non-adaptive (NA) approach by common power control scheme is compared. Combining sectorization and bandwidth segmentation scheme provides novel adaptive load balancing. Performance improvement that proposed adaptive scheme outperforms common power control scheme is about 50%.

Uplink and Downlink Communications Qualities in CDMA Cellular Systems Considering Effects of Traffic Distribution

This paper describes the effects of traffic distributions on uplink and downlink communications qualities in CDMA cellular systems. Many researches have been done from the viewpoint of the system capacity under ideal conditions in both uplink and downlink. However, there are few studies regarding traffic distributions that concurrently affect the uplink and downlink quality. The characteristics...

A Dynamic Load Balancing in Wireless CDMA Cellular Networks

With the increase of cellular users the traffic hot spots and unbalanced call distributions are common in wireless networks. The CDMA techniques enables a base tranciever station to connect microcells with optical fibers and to control the channels by sectorizing the microcells. Each sector which covers several microcells is assigned a soft channel capacity. To solve the load balancing among mi...

An Adaptive Load Balancer for Multiprocessor Routers

By investigating flow level characteristics of Internet traffic, we are able to trace the root of load imbalance in hash-based load-splitting schemes. We model flow popularity distributions as Zipf-like and prove that under typical Internet traffic mix, a hash scheme cannot balance workload statistically, not even in the long run. We then develop a novel load-balancing packet scheduler for para...

Cell Breathing in CDMA Networks

The widespread deployment of wireless cellular technology affects the traditional concept of channel allocation and drives the necessity for novel load balancing techniques. Various load-balancing schemes have been proposed to assign channels to the cells such that the available channels are efficiently used and thus channel reuse, maximized. This is particularly important in networks where tra...
